The BRP Scotts Triple Clamp is offered with a Scotts top bar clamp "Scotts" which allows you to mount your Scotts Stabilizer conventionally above the handlebars and is a great setup for all riding conditions especially off road. Most models are available with rubber mounted bar mounts that help reduce vibration.
BRP triple clamps offer a wide range of options to accommodate different rider ergonomics. In most cases a BRP top triple clamp offers a bar position with a greater "RTS" (Relative to Stem) distance than the stock triple clamp. The bar mounts are reversible and available in 3 different heights and in some cases different offsets increasing your bar position options.
BRP triple clamps are manufactured to the highest quality standards from 6061-T6 billet aluminum which is far stronger than the OEM unit and comparable in weight. Precision machined fork bores feature a 2 pinch bolt design that increases the clamping surface on the forks which in turn will help prevent fork twist in the event of a hard landing or crash. Finished in a signature black anodize the BRP triple clamp will give your machine that factory look.
This is an easy bolt on assembly which requires basic hand tools and can be performed by the novice mechanic.
Understanding Handlebar Positions and RTS
The handlebar postion is a critical part of bike setup and depending on things such as your body type, riding style, bike and or triple clamp your stock bar pisition may not suit you. Understanding handlebar postion is very simple don't let it confuse you. The information provided here will help get you up to speed.
Basically handlebar position can be thought of in 2 planes
* Up & Down (determined by the lower bar perch height)
* Forward to Back (distance relative to steering stem or RTS)
Up & Down is Bar height and determined by the lower bar perch height.
Forward to Back is Position RTS or Relative to Steering Stem. RTS is determined by the distance between the centerline of the steering stem and centerline of the handlebars at their clamping surface.
Bar Position Options
All triple clamps and bar mount configurations are different. At BRP most of the triple clamps offer a greater RTS value than the OEM triple clamp. That along with the 3 lower bar perch height options and 3mm offset perches you have the ability to configure a handlebar position that works best for you.
