Both short & tall Yamaha WR250R and WR250X riders of all ability agree the ML2 YamaLink Lowering Link is a "MUST HAVE" for increasing traction & vastly improving handling. Gain confidence by lowering the seat height almost 2 inches (when combined with the factory .9 inch lowering option).
This is the go-to lowering link for the WR250R and WR250X. We have been selling the ML2 Yamalink Lowering Link for years and our customers are always impressed with the fact that they are able to lower their seat height and actually improve handling! This is due to an increased leverage ratio and lower center of gravity that improves cornering, stability, plushness and traction. The ML2 Yamalink Lowering Link also features a grease zerk that allows you to maintain the lowering link without dismantling the bike to lube it. Bolt-on performance and customization with on-the-bike bearing maintenance- what more could you ask for in a lowering link?!
FAQs
How do I set sag & why do I have to reset sag?
A stock Yamaha requires proper sag of about 100mm for balanced handling. The YamaLink's extra leverage improves the suspension by helping it get more traction, turn better & ride more plush, but if you don't reset sag it will bottom very easily and turn slowly. You can find tutorials on how to set your sag on the internet.
My friend told me I'd lose travel. Is this true?
No! Our INCREASED leverage moves the rear wheel further into the travel arc.
Where should I set my sag, and how much do I raise the forks?
Every YamaLink comes with easy-to-follow instructions everyone can understand, and includes guidelines for raising your forks.
How much can I lower the WR250R WR250X?
We could've lowered the WR250 more, but extensive testing told us that 2 inches in the rear was the maximum & still get a balanced ride up front. More than 2" (1" from factory lowering & 1" from YamaLink) makes the WR250 ride like a chopper.
